What You’ll Do
As an instructor, you’ll be responsible for guiding students through the fundamentals of manual driving, helping them gain confidence in clutch control, shifting gears, reversing, and more. Our structured curriculum is available for you to follow, but if you prefer to teach using your own methods, that’s perfectly fine.
Each lesson takes place in an open parking lot—not on public roads—ensuring a safe and controlled environment for both you and the student.

How does scheduling work?
You set your own availability! When a student books a lesson in your city, you’ll receive an automated text with information regarding the lesson. If you’re available and confirm the lesson, we’ll connect you with the student to coordinate the lesson details.
Do I have to follow a specific curriculum?
We provide a structured curriculum covering everything from starting a manual car to shifting, reversing, and hill starts. We generally recommend following this for your first few lessons. After that, if you prefer to teach in your own way, that’s totally fine as long as the student learns the core skills needed to drive stick confidently.
Do I need to provide my own manual car?
Generally, yes. In certain unique circumstances, students prefer to use their own manual vehicle.
Where do lessons take place?
All lessons take place in open parking lots for safety reasons. You’ll coordinate with each student to pick a convenient location within your city.
How long does each lesson take?
Lesson times vary depending on the package the student selects. Most lessons range from 1.5 to 4 hours, but you’re never expected to go beyond the maximum allotted time.
What are my responsibilities as an instructor?

- Follow basic safety protocols, including verifying the student’s driver’s license.
- Keep lessons engaging and encouraging—stalling happens, and students need a supportive instructor!
